Nic McConaghy is a Canberra based composer specialising in acousmatic music. His creative practice is concerned with the development of new techniques and strategies for integrating aspects of the natural environment into new music composition.

He is a current PhD candidate at Sydney University (Conservatorium of Music), where his practice-led research reflects his passion for acousmatic music, field recording, acoustic ecology and soundscape composition.

His achievement as a composer has been attested through international awards and performances, residencies and academic publication.
